    Sawtooth Ski Festival This Weekend!

    The white stuff has come back this, givin’ us all hope we gonna keep slidin’ on it till spring.  So it is time now to celebrate SHOOShing around on the snow.  Be it free-heelin, fixed-heelin’, skinny or fat skis, glades, bowls or tight couloirs, kickin’ and glidin’ or turnin’ and burnin’-  we all Love to Ski.  Come celebrate Skiing at the Sawtooth Ski Festival in Stanley, Idaho, the world’s greatest ski town.  Here’s the lowdown.

    Friday, March 4, 2011  Sawtooth Hotel, 755 Ace of Diamonds St. Stanley  – Indian Feast & book reading by Soul Skier Extraordinaire, Dick Dorworth.  Dorworth’s new book is called The Perfect Turn.  Dinner will be served at 6 pm.  Call Sawtooth Hotel for reservations 208-721-2459.

    Saturday, March 5, 2011 Park Creek Ski Area, 7 miles West of Stanley  11 am ski/snowshoe poker run.  The Sawtooth Hotel WILL CLOSE AT 2 PM ON SATURDAY IN REVERENCE TO THE ACT OF SKIING

    Saturday night 5:30- 8:30 Stanley Community Building Dinner Extravaganza and Incredible Silent Auction.  Bring your checkbooks if you want to win something special.

    Sunday, March 6, 11 am- 3pm Alturas Lake Ski Trails Soup Kitchen Social

    Come celebrate and enjoy skiing with other Sawtooth enthusiasts!  It’s gonna be a fine time!

    Winterfest 2011

    Hey y’all it’s time again to break free from yo’ cabin fever and get down for a good ol’ time in Stanley, Idaho!

    It’s WINTERFEST.  Wild, wacky, and fun for humans of all ages and dispositions.

    On Saturday, February 12, at high noon on Ace of Diamonds, there will be the Drag race.  Get ready to cross-dress and run in snowshoes.  An “Outhouse Race” will be begin at 1:30 pm.  And there will be pond hockey and sleddin’ and snowman buildin’.

    Sunday, at 11:00 am, will be a “Big Air Snowboard Contest” and at 1:00 pm a “Blind Snow Machine Race.”

    This is your weekend to come out of your shell, let loose, and have some fun.  After all, there is nothing overrated about FUN.
